Expanding What's Possible with CNC Precision
Expanding What's Possible
At New West KnifeWorks, we’re proud to craft tools that blend beauty, performance, and precision — all rooted in American craftsmanship. Our process has always combined hands-on artistry with cutting-edge technology. Now, we’re adding a powerful new asset to take that precision even further: the HAAS VM-2 CNC Milling Machine.
Designed for high-precision mold-making and known for its rigidity and versatility, this three-axis mill enhances our ability to prototype faster, build more in-house, and push the boundaries of what we can create.
Join founder Corey Milligan and VP of Production Erin Hemmings for a behind-the-scenes look at what this machine means for our future — and yours.
What it means for us:
- Faster prototyping – New ideas can be tested and refined in days, not weeks, helping us move from concept to production with greater agility.
- More in-house capability – We can now machine parts and components ourselves, improving efficiency and deepening our control over quality.
- Advanced fixture development – Creating custom fixtures in-house helps streamline production and ensure even greater consistency.
- Expanded creative freedom – Whether it’s folding knives, new blade geometries, or one-of-a-kind custom projects, we now have the tools to imagine (and build) just about anything.
What it means for you:
- Continued product innovation – With faster prototyping and testing, you’ll see new designs and thoughtful improvements roll out more often.
- Next-level refinement – This machine helps us maintain the tightest tolerances, supporting even better balance, fit, and finish in every piece.
- Even more made in-house – By bringing more of our process under one roof, we double down on our commitment to American-made quality.
- The future of fine tools – As we evolve, our goal remains the same: to offer you beautiful, functional tools you’re proud to use for life.
