Description
Description
For over a decade, William Porto has worked steel by hand in Brazil, building a reputation as one of the world's finest culinary bladesmiths. His signature is the house-made Damascus pattern — hundreds of layers folded and forge-welded into mosaics that don't repeat, then embellished with precious metals, exotic woods, and details most makers wouldn't attempt. Every knife that leaves his forge is a singular object, built to be held before it's understood.
This Bowie is one of those objects. The blade is Porto's own mosaic Damascus, its pattern hypnotic and unrepeatable — no two folds of steel ever land the same way twice. The handle is genuine mammoth ivory, a material pulled from the ground older than record, each piece its own fingerprint of grain and age. Together they make a knife that is equal parts working tool and museum object — the kind of thing you don't so much buy as acquire.
Sourced directly from Porto at Blade Show 2026 by our custom knife buying team, this piece arrives with a protective zippered pouch and a cow/alligator leather sheath, ready for display or the field.
